Debiruth Stanford, LMHC, CDWF

I am a private practice therapist serving clients in and near Redmond/Bellevue, Washington as well as online or by phone for Washington State residents. I delight in working with adults individually or in relationships. As your therapist, it is my priority to create a therapeutic atmosphere that promotes growth and positive change for you. I look forward to working with you to address your challenges and realize your goals. Therapy is a process that can move you toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the life you desire.

I am also a life coach and work with people on personal and business matters related to values clarification, purpose/vision, and goal execution; communication skills; relationship skills, and improving personal and team effectiveness through developing emotional intelligence.

In my spare time, I carry on a love affair with photography and travel. My creative outlets include travel photography, stealth portraiture, and teaching photography and digital darkroom technique using Adobe Photoshop.  I love music and have been a singing member of the Seattle Women’s Chorus for more than 17+ years.

Treatment Approach

field pathI use a variety of approaches to address your unique needs and draw from a number of therapy modalities including attachment-focused, family systems, cognitive-behavioral, emotionally-focused, Gottman Method, EMDR, Lifespan Integration, and more.  I tailor a treatment plan and approach for each client that includes tools to help sustain the growth experienced in ongoing therapy.

Additionally, a growing body of research supports the practice of mindfulness and self-compassion in psychotherapy and coaching. Neuroscience research reveals that individuals who practice these techniques are happier, more resilient, and better equipped to heal painful memories from the past. I am pleased to offer these two modalities as part of most therapeutic plans. It is my honor and mission to help my clients move past what’s blocking them from reaching their full potential individually and in their relationships.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
